March-2022 Update

​Spring is in the air!  Soon, flowers will be poking their heads up from the ground and summer cottagers will be slowly making their way back, ready to start a new, amazing season.
 
The Garden Club has been preparing for the upcoming season with great programs and organized activities.  We will be having 2 Saturday meetings this summer so the folks who are off island during the week will have an opportunity to take part.
 

1. Our annual flower baskets will be prepped and hung on May 17 & 18 in DeRivera Park.  Anyone available to aide in this project can call Val Chornyak 419-285-4030 for help needed.

 

1. On Saturday, May 21, at 10:00 (Yacht Club) We will be presenting “ The Challenge of Chiggers and Chipmunks”.  Discover the facts regarding these pests as well as techniques and products to rid them from our landscape, “The truth about chigger bites”, how to avoid them and relieve the itch.

 

1. We will be hosting a plant exchange on Wednesday, June 8, at 4:30 (Yacht Club Pavilion). For each plant that you contribute, you can take another one home.  Please attach a label with plant name, size, bloom color and sun or shade requirements.

 
All members were emailed a new membership form for this season which can be paid by check (P.O. Box 815) or Pay Pal.  Any questions can be addressed to Donna D’Amico 440-212-8203 or you can go to Website: Putinbaygardenclub.com/membershipdonate.  The money collected is used for our flowers, replacement shrubs and programs.
